Walkie Talkie Tower Climb
Walkie Talkie Tower Climb 2025 is one of GOSH Charity’s annual owned mass participation events. On Saturday 8 March 2025, hundreds of participants will dare to take the stairs for a sky-high tower run. Participants will sprint, run or walk up one of London’s most recognisable landmarks, 20 Fenchurch Street – known as the Walkie Talkie building – to raise money to help give seriously ill children childhoods that are fuller, funner and longer.
How you’ll make a difference
Do you enjoy the buzz of events and speaking to new people, and want to develop or use your organisation skills? This is the role for you.
Walkie Talkie Tower Climb wouldn’t be possible without volunteers like you. You’ll be part of ensure the Walkie Talkie Tower Climb participants have an excellent event day and feel inspired to keep fundraising for GOSH Charity in the future.
What’s involved?
As part of this role, you may be invited to help with activities such as:
- Cheering on event participants on the stairs
- Meet and greet event participants
- Help guide participants and guests to where they need to be
- Stewarding participants and guests in the Sky Garden
- Supporting with bag drop and bag collection
- Distributing medals
- Registration and race pack collection

What time should you offer?
Ideal full shift is 7am – 2pm.
If you are unable to do a full shift, but can help for some of the day, please do let us know!

Training and Support
- Pre event briefing information via email, and briefing on-the-day
- On-the-day support from a GOSH Charity member of staff
- Volunteering Policy and Volunteer Handbook
- Equipment provided to do the role well such as a GOSH Charity t-shirt and cheering materials for example
What we're looking for
- Individuals, aged 18 and over, interested in a varied and flexible volunteering role
- Individuals who enjoy meeting new people and helping others feel at ease
- Able to use your own initiative and carry out tasks unsupervised
- Ability to follow our policies and procedures to keep you, our staff, our patients, and our supporters safe
- Ability to represent GOSH and our values positivity and enthusiastically
