The Daily Challenge FAQs

About the event

The Daily Challenge is an event for children to do during their summer holidays.

Every day from 5 – 11 August, children can pick one activity from the activity pack and ask friends and family to sponsor them. From active challenges to creative tasks, there’s something for everyone.

It is free to sign up and when registered, families will receive an Activities Ideas pack via email which has been fed into by the Play team at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

To sign up, you just need to set up a JustGiving page. You can then use this page to receive your sponsorship.

We wanted to make sure we provided a good mix of activities to hopefully provide some fun, low-cost ideas to keep the little ones busy over the week.

We’ve broken these up into themes: physical challenges (eg. a walk, push, cycle), creative challenges, giving it up for GOSH (eg. no screen time), baking challenges (eg. biscuit decorating) and getting outdoors (eg. going on a bug hunt).

Of course! You can make any challenge easier or harder in whatever way you like.

Yes, definitely. If there’s something you think would be a fun challenge and would encourage people to sponsor you, you’re welcome to do that instead.

To register for the event, you’ll create a JustGiving page. Share this with friends and family so they can sponsor you for your efforts. Make sure you update your profile picture and your story on the page – we know people often raise more when they do this!

If you make or bake something as part of the challenge, you could ask friends and family if they’d like to make a small donation to enjoy whatever you’ve made.

You could also ask people to make a donation to choose a challenge for you.

We’ve set the fundraising target of everyone’s page at £100, but this can be changed to something higher or lower, depending on your circumstances.

To register, you’ll create a JustGiving fundraising page.

To pay in offline donations you can:

  • Pay it directly onto your fundraising page.
  • Pay online using our website form.
  • Call us on 020 3841 3131 to pay over the phone. Be sure to mention Daily Challenges.

Yes, it can. Please email us at events@gosh.org with your details and a link to your fundraising page so we can arrange this for you.

At Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity, we help give seriously ill children the best chance, and the best childhoods, possible.

Because we believe no childhood should be lost to serious illness. But we can only do it with your support.

Your money will go towards funding groundbreaking research, cutting-edge medical equipment, and the building and refurbishment of child-centred facilities.

You’ll also help to fund support for staff and the vital services that children and families going through the toughest journey of their lives urgently need, like free home-from-home accommodation and play specialists who help children process their experiences and prepare for treatment.
