Regular Giving FAQs
Regular givers are incredibly important to GOSH as they allow us to plan for the future and ensure we deliver the best long-term care for our patients and families. A monthly gift from you could help change the lives of seriously ill children – now and into the future. Explore our 'frequently asked questions' on regular giving.
Why do you need my help?
GOSH is one of the world’s leading children’s hospitals and has always depended on charitable support to provide world class care for children with rare and complex diseases. With new challenges every day, and more and more children requiring treatment at the hospital, GOSH Charity needs your support now more than ever. We need your help to raise over £100 million every year and fund life-saving, vital treatments for the UK’s most seriously ill children. Please donate today.
Why do you want a regular gift?
By choosing to give a monthly donation, you will be making an ongoing difference to the hospital. You will be helping us to plan ahead and make long-term improvements for our patients and families. A regular gift allows us to plan for the future because we know, day in day out, that we will have a steady income stream that we can rely on.
How much should I give?
We know times are tough for many at the moment, but we appreciate any amount you can give to support GOSH. It is not so much the amount of the gift that is important to us, but more the regularity and ensuring we have a steady income stream to support our patients and families. Please support us with an amount you can afford and feel comfortable with.
Where will my money go?
For every £1 donated, 71p will go directly towards supporting our patients and families at GOSH and the other 29p will help us to raise the next pound.
Your regular gift could help towards;
- Child and family support services such as family accommodation near the hospital, keeping parents close when their child needs them most.
- Pioneering research into kinder treatments and cures for rare childhood conditions.
- New child-focused environments that help children feel safe and calm during their appointments, treatments and recovery.
- State-of-the-art medical technology to deliver world-class care to seriously ill children every day.

What is Gift Aid and how does it help?
Thanks to the government's Gift Aid scheme, if you are a UK taxpayer, GOSH Charity can reclaim the tax on your donations. This means that your gifts are worth up to 28% more to us at no extra cost to you.
If you pay tax on your income, savings or pension you will qualify for the Gift Aid scheme. You must be paying at least 25p in tax for every £1 you donate.
To join the scheme when you donate, simply tick the Gift Aid box on the online donation form. If you have already donated and would like add Gift Aid, you can fill out our Gift Aid declaration form.
Shouldn’t the NHS pay for care?
The NHS covers the hospital's basic running costs, but it’s the extra support from the public that makes GOSH extraordinary. Your donations help us pay for areas which government money can’t stretch to, such as pioneering research projects and specialised medical equipment. Donations also go towards the welfare of our patients and families – including parent accommodation close to the hospital and our Play Therapy team; a group of unique experts in childcare and play who bring fun into the hospital and ease children’s anxieties.
