The Book of Remembrance
Honouring every person who leaves a gift in their Will.
St Christopher's Chapel was described by Oscar Wilde as "the most delightful private chapel in London". It has been at the heart of the hospital since 1875 and is one of the most magnificent hospital chapels in the country.
People who leave us gifts in their Wills mean a lot to us, so a Book of Remembrance, recording their names, is kept on public display next to the Children's Book of Remembrance. These can be found in the ante-room to St Christopher’s Chapel at the heart of the hospital.
"I have sent details of my late father so that his name can be added to the Book of Remembrance. Thank you for this kindness, dad would have been so proud. As an infant in the 1920s, he was treated at the hospital and always considered that it saved his life – which went on for 84 years".
