At just 18 months old, Sumayyah was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia. After undergoing life-saving treatment at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH), including a bone marrow transplant, she is now in remission.

In 2020, Sumayyah spent Ramadan in hospital. Her mum, Amira, says: "It was quite difficult, but we managed to fast on the ward and the staff were really supportive."
