How playing the Christmas raffle helps support GOSH
Childhood Christmases shouldn't be spent on a ward. But when they have to be, we do everything we can to make Christmas feel like Christmas.
When you enter our Christmas Raffle, you'll help to:
- bring joy to the wards and create magical memories
- keep families together all year round by helping to fund free accommodation right by the hospital
- fund much-needed research to find new cures and treatments for the rarest and most complex childhood illnesses. That means more seriously ill children can look forward to many more Christmases to come.
Rowan (pictured above) has spent most Christmases at GOSH.
He has IPEX syndrome, a rare condition that impacts his immune system. His brother, Karson, had the same syndrome and sadly passed away when he was nine months old.
Rowan has also received treatment for nephrotic syndrome, a condition affecting the kidneys, and had a bone marrow transplant in 2021. He's also been diagnosed with BK virus, which damaged his kidneys.
Today, Rowan has dialysis at GOSH three times a week.
"When he’s in hospital, he gets visits from the Play team and teaching from the GOSH school," his mum, Joanne, says.
"Being at GOSH over Christmas is brilliant. They give Rowan presents, and we get Christmas dinner.
"We all try to make it as special as we can."
Every ticket you buy will help to change the lives of seriously ill children like Rowan – at Christmastime and all year round.
