Childhood made you. Let’s make theirs.

Volunteer holding baby with a wide smile

At Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity (GOSH Charity) we’re here to help give seriously ill children the best chance and the best childhood possible.

Our new film shows what’s possible, thanks to those who support us today. But with thousands of children from all over the UK treated at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) every year, more support is urgently needed.

Last autumn, our team spent a few months on the ground at the hospital, capturing what childhood means for real GOSH kids and their families.

For Ellie, childhood is her first bath, her first moments free from medical machines, her first tummy time, and her first smile.

For siblings Freya and Ricky Junior, childhood is playing and painting with the Play team, twice-daily physio sessions, and learning at the GOSH School.

For Aditi, childhood is dance-offs to her favourite tunes, getting creative with the GOSH Arts team, and receiving the UK’s first kidney transplant without the need for lifelong immunosuppressants.

For Jemimah-Rose, babyhood is cuddles with mummy and daddy, yawns over naptime rhymes, and receiving expert care as she recovers from neonatal heart surgery.

Help us keep going

Until no childhood is lost to serious illness, we’ll keep doing everything we can for families facing the unimaginable. For the children from all over the UK who are treated at GOSH every day. For children with rare or complex illnesses everywhere. For this generation and all those to come.
