Cancer doesn’t care about childhood. We do.
Cancer doesn’t care what children miss out on when they go through their diagnosis and treatment. It doesn’t care how much their families want to protect them.
But at Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity (GOSH Charity), we do. And we know you do too.
When you donate to our Build it. Beat it. appeal today, you’ll be helping to build a world-class Children’s Cancer Centre that’s more than just a hospital. It's a place designed around what children like Sky (pictured above) and their families really need, putting play at the centre of care.
Give today and together we’ll be one step closer to building a centre that offers:
- bright, inspiring spaces for learning and fun
- outdoor areas where children can spend time away from the ward
- bedrooms big enough for families to rest and play together
- specialist sensory rooms where children can relax, regulate their emotions and prepare for treatment
Inside the sensory rooms in the new Children's Cancer Centre
With gentle lighting, soothing sounds and sensory activities tailored to different needs, the specialist sensory rooms in the new centre will be especially important for children who find hospital environments overwhelming or have additional needs.
The finished spaces will be a haven for children, filled with delights like bubble tubes, light panels, projectors and infinity tunnels, alongside soft flooring and comfortable seating. Most importantly, they will give children somewhere they can feel safe, calm and more like themselves during some of the toughest moments of treatment.
Hope starts right now. Join us.
With your support, we can create a place designed entirely around children and their families, helping more children feel calmer and less frightened during some of the toughest moments. Will you help us build it?
Being in hospital can feel scary for many children. That's why the new Children’s Cancer Centre at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) will put children and families at the centre of its design.
You can read more about the impact this will have for patients like Sky, and the Power of Play in our latest edition of Pioneer magazine.
